Opjectivity of Expression - A Life's Work

The Dreamer

John Chladek was born on a hot day in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, August 31st, 1932, the day of a Solar eclipse. The oldest of 4 boys, he had the Artist skills.  At a very early age, John’s true interest was Art and spent all of his time devoted to either Drawing or thinking about Drawing.  During his youth, His little brothers Roger, Jim, & Richard called him “The Dreamer”.

In the 1950’s he studied a wide-range of Art courses in Style, Media, Color, & Image Techniques at the Layton School of Art, the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee & Madison, the Madison Area Technical College, and the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles, California.

His credits being influenced by Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Gauguin, Cézanne, Kandinsky and Leonardo Da Vinci.

John was a Army Veteran, in 1960’s, he moved from Madison to Fort Lewis, Washington for Active Duty with the Red Arrow Division of the Wisconsin Army National Guard.  While on active duty, John was sent to West Point, New York where he did illustrations for the Army Times Magazine and continued his Free-lance painting.

After honorable military service, he returned to Madison, took courses in Merchandise Illustration and Advertising Design, and began his 25+ year career as a Commercial Artist for various government agencies and the Wisconsin State Historical Society.

He was a Prolific Painter. In the 1970’s, 1980's & 1990's, John Exhibited his Extensive Art Collection at Local Businesses, Community Art Fairs, & Several Galleries in Madison, Milwaukee, Chicago & New York.

John preferred to paint Abstract canvases because they were more challenging to what he termed his own personal “Objectivity of Expression”.

John’s Landscapes continue to be the most commercially successful.  We noticed that 2 canvasses that John sold to Michael Ingbar Gallery in New York a few years ago were recently listed & re-sold on Amazon.com under Collectibles & Fine Art for $$,$$$.
